Portfolio Director

Smart Talent Group is partnering with a growing B2B events and market intelligence business to appoint an experienced Portfolio Director.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity for someone who understands how to build commercially successful conference portfolios, lead high-performing content teams and create events that senior industry leaders genuinely want to attend.

You will take ownership of a portfolio of established B2B conferences, with the opportunity to grow existing products and develop new event concepts from the ground up.

This role would suit a senior conference producer, conference director, content leader or commercially minded events professional who understands both quality programming and revenue performance.

The role will involve:

• Owning and growing a portfolio of B2B conferences and executive events

• Setting the strategic direction for event content, positioning and commercial growth

• Holding responsibility for portfolio performance and P&L outcomes

• Leading, mentoring and developing a team of conference producers

• Improving the quality of content, speakers, agendas and delegate experience

• Identifying new event opportunities across emerging market sectors

• Taking new event concepts from idea stage through to commercial launch

• Working closely with sponsorship, marketing, delegate sales and operations teams

• Building strong market knowledge across the built environment, property, construction, PropTech and innovation sectors

To be successful, you will bring:

• Strong experience in B2B conference production, content strategy or event portfolio leadership

• Proven ability to develop, grow or significantly improve commercial conferences

• Experience leading or mentoring producers, content teams or event staff

• Strong understanding of delegate revenue, sponsorship value and event profitability

• Excellent writing, editing and agenda development skills

• Commercial judgement and the ability to spot strong market opportunities

• Confidence working with senior stakeholders, speakers, partners and internal teams

• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and high editorial standards
