Your new role

We are seeking an experienced EL1 Backend API Developer to design, develop, and support secure, scalable, and reliable API services that power digital applications, portals, and online platforms. Working within a multidisciplinary Agile team, you will build and maintain integration solutions that connect digital channels with enterprise systems, ensuring high performance, security, and maintainability.

This role requires strong backend engineering expertise and the ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while maintaining accountability for the quality, security, and reliability of the final solution. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver robust, innovative, and user-focused digital services.

What you'll need to succeed

Key duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, test and maintain secure, scalable backend services and consumer APIs using modern frameworks such as Golang and GraphQL.
• Develop and support cloud-native applications deployed to Kubernetes and AWS EKS environments.
• Collaborate closely with frontend development teams, Salesforce developers, MuleSoft integration teams and solution architects to deliver integrated digital solutions.
• Design and implement authentication, authorisation and secure integration patterns that enable web, portal and mobile applications to access enterprise services.
• Utilise AI-assisted software development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and delivery activities while maintaining accountability for technical outcomes.
• Contribute to platform reliability, observability, security and operational excellence, including support for Cloudflare Zero Trust and secure connectivity services.
