Mining Engineer - Ventilation

About the Role

This is a great opportunity to further develop your career in underground ventilation within a technically strong and supportive mining environment. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Engineering, youll play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient working conditions across the Mungari underground operations while continuing to build your expertise in ventilation engineering and planning.

In this role, youll gain exposure across both the operational and strategic aspects of ventilation, from conducting surveys and maintaining models through to contributing to Life of Mine planning. Youll have the opportunity to strengthen your capability in ventilation modelling, airflow optimisation, and system performance analysis, while working collaboratively with mining, geotechnical, and electrical teams to deliver practical and effective outcomes.

Youll also be supported to develop your analytical and problem-solving skills by identifying opportunities to improve ventilation efficiency, including involvement in optimisation projects such as ventilation on demand. With a strong focus on safety and compliance, youll deepen your understanding of risk management and play an important role in ensuring controls are embedded in both day-to-day operations and long-term plans.

This position is offered on either a residential 5:2:4:3 or 8:6 roster or FIFO from Perth on an 8:6 roster.

About You

Youre someone who enjoys working as part of a team and building strong, effective relationships across both technical and operational groups. You take pride in delivering high-quality work, have a strong attention to detail, and are motivated by opportunities to continue developing your technical capability.

You bring a solid foundation in underground ventilation along with a proactive and solution-focused mindset. Youre comfortable analysing data, identifying trends, and applying practical improvements, and you thrive in an environment where you can contribute to safe and efficient outcomes.

Youll also have:

• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
• 3 years experience in underground mining, with exposure to ventilation engineering
• Proven capability using ventilation modelling software, ideally Ventsim
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical and operational information
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
• A strong commitment to safety and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
