About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a Technical Support Specialist (Automotive OEM) to provide high-level technical assistance and diagnostic support to dealer networks across Australia.
Duties
- Technical Phone & Email Support : Provide first-line and advanced diagnostic support to dealers and technicians via phone, email, and the online Assist Portal. Help troubleshoot issues using wiring diagrams, scan tools, and manufacturer resources.
- Diagnostics & Problem Solving : Leverage strong mechanical knowledge to guide technicians on fault-finding for engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, etc. Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and support complex repairs.
- On-Site Support : Travel to dealerships or customer sites as needed (highly variable — quiet periods followed by busy times) to assist with difficult diagnostics or escalations.
- Technical Documentation : Prepare clear technical reports, service bulletins (if required), and case notes. Communicate efficiently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Parts Returns & Logistics : Manage warranty/return parts — pick, pack, and coordinate returns to the factory.
- General Administration : Use computer systems (Word, Excel, manufacturer portals) for case management, data entry, and coordination. Support service advisors or workshop teams
Skills and experience
- Ideally 5+ years as a qualified truck/light or heavy vehicle technician (OEM experience highly regarded).
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a technical support role is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of diagnostics on light and heavy vehicles (no preference — must be comfortable with both).
