Your new role
You will lead the delivery of Combat Systems engineering outputs across quality, cost, and schedule, ensuring solutions meet operational requirements while aligning with robust engineering governance and lifecycle processes. Working closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, you will play a critical role in maintaining product integrity, safety, and technical excellence.

  • Acting as Engineering Design Acceptance Authority for Combat Systems
  • Serving as the primary interface with customers to understand and translate operational requirements
  • Leading the Combat Systems engineering portfolio and reporting into the Project Engineering Manager
  • Establishing and controlling engineering plans, estimates, resources, and technical baselines
  • Managing configuration control through formal engineering governance boards
  • Leading and developing Combat Systems engineering teams through coaching, mentoring, and targeted training initiatives
  • Providing technical oversight of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure schedule and technical alignment
  • Supporting design reviews and technical bid reviews
  • Championing product integrity, safety, environmental protection, and continuous improvement across the lifecycle

What you'll need to succeed

  • Ability to obtain Chartered Status.
  • A tertiary qualification in Systems Engineering or a related discipline such as Electrical.
  • Previous experience supporting shipbased weapons or combat systems through an engineering or sustainment contractor
  • NV1 Clearance
  • Strong combat systems technical expertise and ability to lead this from the front.
  • This role is subject to ITAR restrictions.
  • Must be able to work from Garden Island.
