Expression of Interest: Join the Harbour Board

Harbour is inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to contribute their skills, experience and perspectives as members of our Board.

Appointments will be considered at Harbour’s Annual General Meeting in November.

How to express your interest

To be eligible for Harbour Board Membership, you must first be a Harbour Member. Membership is free. To complete a membership form, please select the below link and email your completed form to ***email_hidden***

Following endorsement of your Harbour membership a Board Member will contact you to discuss your interest and skills and respond to any queries you may have about Board Membership.

· Why you would like to join the Harbour Board

· The skills, experience or perspectives you would bring

· Any relevant community involvement or governance experience

Two longstanding Board Members with finance expertise are stepping down from the Board at the November AGM and we are very interested in attracting individuals with skills across finance, asset management and risk however we are also seeking a diverse mix of people who share our commitment to good governance, thoughtful leadership and positive community impact.

We welcome interest from people with professional expertise and connections to the communities Harbour serves.

Board commitment

· Monthly finance meeting for Finance Subcommittee only (an hour includes lunch)

· Two monthly Risk & Quality subcommittee for Risk & Quality subcommittee only (an hour every two months)

· Six Board Meetings a year (90 minutes per meeting)

· Strategic Planning session and review (quarterly review)

You do not need to have previous board experience or meet every area listed. We value curiosity, sound judgement, collaboration and a willingness to learn. Appropriate induction and support will be provided.

What the role involves

· Preparing for and participating in Board meetings

· Contributing to strategic direction, oversight and responsible decision-making

· Acting in Harbour’s best interests and supporting its purpose and values

· Meeting the legal and ethical responsibilities of a Board member
