About the role
We are seeking a Diploma Early Childhood Educator who is passionate, motivated, enthusiastic, and shares a commitment to Early Childhood Education by providing innovative and quality outcomes for children. You will support our funded three and four year old kindergarten children by providing engaging and inclusive programs with the support of your service team across 23 Wyndham Kindergarten Sites.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to share your skills in our Early Education and Care Services team, we provide a unique play-based environment that encourages learning through experimentation, trial and error, watching, listening and participating. You will report to the Area Leader Kindergarten Relief Operations.
No two days are the same. Our ‘Roamer’ position plays a critical role in supporting service continuity by supporting kindergarten programs across Wyndham’s network of kinder services as required. You will work flexibly across sites, confidently adapting to different service environments, routines and team dynamics, while maintaining consistent, high-quality educational practice. This includes quickly building rapport with children, engaging respectfully with families and collaborating effectively with educators to support smooth day-to-day operations.
This role offers valuable exposure to a diverse range of learning environments, service teams and community contexts. By working across multiple services, you will strengthen your adaptability, professional confidence and understanding of integrated service delivery. You will also contribute to shared learning and continuous improvement by bringing insights, experience and effective practices between services.

- Throughout the day, you will lead and contribute to a team environment that ensures every child, including those with additional needs, are supported in a high-quality Kindergarten program.
- You will lead collaboration with colleagues in planning and documenting activities, contributing your ideas and expertise to the process.
- Continuous improvement will be at the heart of your work as you actively seek ways to enhance your practices and outcomes.
- You will follow best practice procedures, aligning with the unit’s policies and guidelines to ensure a smooth and effective day.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills will be essential as you work alongside others to create a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
What you will bring
- Diploma in Children’s Services (Graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Experience working in early years education is highly desirable but not essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and a teamwork ethos
- Understanding of the variety of local, state and commonwealth guidelines and regulations, and the ability to ensure compliance in line with council policies
- An understanding of the Child Safe Standards and current reforms
- Current certificates in Anaphylaxis, Asthma Management and First Aid
- A current Working with Children’s Check and agreement to undergo a Police Check
- Current National Child Safety Training (Geccko - Foundation 1 & 2 and Advanced 3 & 4)
