Hays are currently working with a local council North of the River to recruit a General Hand to join their Streetscapes team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and presentation of local parks, verges and public spaces within the community.

Your new role

As a General Hand, you'll support the day-to-day upkeep of streetscapes and public open spaces across the council area. Working outdoors as part of a team, your duties will include:

• Parks and gardens maintenance
• Verge mowing and brush cutting
• Litter collection and general cleaning of public areas
• Assisting with traffic management set-up
• Operating council vehicles and equipment
• General labouring duties as required

What you'll need to succeed

• HR/MR Driver's Licence (essential)
• Traffic Management ticket/certification (essential)
• Experience within parks and gardens, landscaping or grounds maintenance
• Ability to work safely in outdoor environments
• Reliable, hardworking and team-oriented attitude
• Physically fit and capable of manual work
